Because the fourth trimester encompasses tremendous growth for baby and is a pivotal healing time for mom.

It all started when…
I was treating patients as an orthopedic physical therapist and started diving deeper into women’s health (birth) histories, recognizing that a lack of proper postpartum rehabilitation was at the root of their problems.
Women were experiencing back and pelvic pain due to difficulty engaging their abdominals and pelvic floor correctly, revealing over time that they continued to struggle with incontinence years after childbirth, or were unable to tolerate intercourse due to pain. Women who delivered via c-section had tremendous trouble connecting to their abdominals, some never even touching their scars, resulting in significant myofascial restrictions.
Through years of training in pelvic floor dysfunction through the Herman and Wallace Institute, in combination with over a decade in orthopedic physically therapy, I began to hone my skills to better help this amazing population. My desire to elevate postpartum care only grew once I became a mom myself, truly appreciating the changes that occur and the time it takes to heal.
Appreciating the difficulty in finding “self care” time during the fourth trimester, between feedings, naps, exhaustion, and childcare scheduling, I decided to make life a bit easier for new moms by offering home visits.
